Attribution Policy
Our commitment
DataLens exists to amplify open research, not to replace or obscure it. Every dataset page we generate is built entirely from publicly available metadata and links directly to the original source. We believe proper attribution is non-negotiable.
What we display on every page
- • Full author names as listed on Zenodo
- • DOI — the persistent identifier for the dataset
- • License — the exact license under which the dataset is published
- • Direct link to Zenodo — "View on Zenodo →" appears in the metadata strip and the page footer
- • Publication year
- • Dataset type and keywords
What we don't do
- • We do not host or redistribute any dataset files
- • We do not modify the underlying research data
- • We do not claim any ownership or copyright over the original datasets
- • We do not paywall any content — all DataLens pages are freely accessible
AI-generated narratives
The editorial text, chart interpretations, and visual layouts on DataLens are generated by AI based on publicly available metadata. These narratives are designed to make research more accessible, but they are not peer-reviewed and should not be cited as primary sources. Always refer to the original dataset and associated publications for authoritative information.
Removal requests
If you are a dataset author and would like your dataset removed from DataLens, please contact us and we will remove it promptly. We respect your right to control how your work is presented.
License compatibility
We generate DataLens pages for datasets published under open licenses (CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC BY-NC, CC0, and similar). Our use of metadata for commentary, attribution, and linking falls within the scope of these licenses. If you believe we have misattributed or misrepresented your work, please contact us.
